One week after the end of the club trip, Tommo rings the doorbell at his sister's house. He tells her that he's going to visit her sister, Maria, who's staying with her family. He's not sure why they're doing it, but he figures it's because Maria's sisters, Otsuka and Tamura, didn't come back from their trip to the "bring lodge" , where they were supposed to meet up with Tamura and the others. He also tells them that Tamura's family is on their way to visit Maria, so they'll have to wait until they get back. Tommo says that he doesn't know what's wrong with Maria, because she's "all anxious and anti-social" . He wants them to help him find a way to help her, but they can't figure out what to do. They're not sure how to do it, since they've been forced to do so much work for her, and they don't want her to just tell them to go back home. They decide to go to Maria first.
