The witch's powers are about to be put to the test, and Tamura asks if he's going to use them. He's worried that his wife will still remember him, and he doesn't want her to be the one to suffer. Tamura says that he has an obligation to do his duty, and that he'll do his best to fulfill it, but that he can't do anything about the fact that the witch is using the power against him. He also says that Tamura is going to beat himself up over the whole thing, and so he wants to solve the problem on his own. He tells Tamura that he won't use the power to say anything to his wife, but he will tell her when he gets home, and she'll be happy to hear it. Reluctantly, Tamura agrees to let Tamura know everything about him when he returns home. He says that the only thing that worries him about is that shira-san will tell him to be sad when she sees him, but Tamura assures him that she will be happy when he tells her that. He asks Tamura if she's relieved that he hasn't said anything to her, but she says that she was relieved because he said that she didn't think it would happen, and now that he says it, he feels a little better. He confesses that he wrote Tamura every single thing about her in his diary, and if he sees this, he can accept that his memories have been erased. He wishes that he had checked Tamura's body, too, so that he wouldn't be so hard on himself to remember things.
