About This Chapter
In this short scene, Ani and Yotsuba are on their way back to school, and Ani asks her friend if she thinks they're twins. Ani says they are, but she doesn't have any money, so she'll have whatever she wants. Ani asks what she's going to do with her money, and she says she wants to go to a karaoke bar. She's not sure what to sing, but Ani thinks she can sing a standard love song, which is basically "vacation." Ani says she'd like to sing a vacation song, but that she can't sing a love song that's too high-flown for her taste. Ani tells her friend that she was sure she had feelings for Yosuba, but now that she thinks about it, she realizes that she didn't mean to hurt him. Ani is angry that she thought he was mad, and that he's still trying to figure out how to respond to him. She tells him that he should just accept their anger, since it's their fault that he was so rude to her. Ani reminds her that it was not her fault that they got into a fight at school, but it was hers. She says she won't be able to help her friend since it has no other to apologize for. Ani wants Ani to accept her anger, but then she asks if she should sing another love song. She wants to sing "love vacation," which Ani thinks is the most popular song in the school. She asks Ani to sing it better, so that Ani can beat her in the singing contest. Ani admits that she only wanted to come to the school because she thought it would be the best place for her to learn about love. She hopes that everyone can do something to make her happy, and then she can be happy.
