In this chapter, we are introduced to Futaro, who has just returned from a five-star tour with his family. He tells us that he is glad to be back in Japan, and that he hopes that his trip will be a good one. Futaro asks him what he is up to, and he tells him that he has been thinking about leaving his family behind. He asks if he has a dream, and Futaro says that he does, but he is not sure if it is the right thing for him to do. He then tells Futaro that he was once a girl who dreamed of being a "chollawager" . He promises to marry her one day.
