The narrator tells us that he's going to take the girls to the train station, where they're supposed to wait for the teachers to pick them up. He's bummed that he can't borrow enough money to pay for the train ticket, but he wants to do something to help his family out. He wants to get a job so that his mom can support herself. He also wants to give his little sister, who's just started school, some money so that she can start making some money herself. The narrator says he'll study his butt off, and then when he gets crazy smart, he can give his sister some money to start making a living. The girls agree to ask for a hundred yen each, and the narrator tells them that they'll be able to help their mom out if they just ask.
