In this short scene, the two young men discuss their mutual dislike for one another. They are both worried about the fact that the other is a little "warped" by his youth, and they are worried about whether or not they will be able to make up with each other in the future. The two men discuss the possibility of a romance between them, but they are unable to come up with a definite plan. They decide to move the firewood around to keep it from getting caught in the snow, and the two men wonder if they are really a boy and not a man. They wonder if there is anything wrong with a pair of hands, and if they have always been weak. They ask each other if they were on fire duty, and are surprised to learn that they were not. They discuss how they were supposed to help carry Yotsuba, but their hearts were beating faster than they could carry him, so they had to stop and think. They talk about how they are going to dance, and how they can't figure out a way to get around the legend that the two girls are the oldest and most beautiful people in the world. They try to figure out what they are supposed to do, but no one is looking.
