The chapter opens with the door to the house being opened. It's Hiroyuki's turn to enter. He's been allowed in because he's a private tutor, but Hiroyuki is worried that he'll be caught in the act with Viola. He wants to know what's going on. Hiroyuki tells him that Viola is helping the girls' basketball team, so he shouldn't be in the house. He also tells Hiroyuki not to come any closer to Viola because she looks like she's acting "safer around him." Hiroyuki doesn't believe him. He says that he saw Viola naked, and that he knew that Viola was in love with Hiroyuki. He adds that Viola's body is "almost identical" to hers, so it's not like they're going to fight over who's right or wrong. He tells her to give Hiroyuki a "rest." He says he can't tutor anymore because some of his books have fallen off the shelf. He apologizes for his "carelessness" and says that Viola ran off without her key, so she couldn't ask the other girls for help. He asks Hiroyuki to wait until dinner is ready, and then he can go home alone and study on his own. He complains that the girls have no room for Hiroyuki in their house, because they've let him in. He claims that he hates his sisters, and he can blame them for letting him in, too. He thinks they must be "nuts" to let a stranger like him into their house.
