In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, who is introduced as the "actu ally" of the novel's main character, Kintaro. Kintaro has come to visit her at her hotel, and she asks him to stay with her until she has "no regrets." Kintaro agrees, and they part on good terms. He tells her that he has agreed to let her off the hook if she will spend the entire day with him. He also says that if she breaks the agreement, he will not forgive her. He then asks her to bake some cookies for him, and he wonders if they are based on a movie he saw recently. He asks her if she is a good cook and she says that she is. She then asks him if he has called her by her first name and he says that he just called her "by my first name." She tells him that she has made so many cookies that she does not need to talk like that anymore. She also asks her sisters to come to the hotel to help bake the cookies for her. She tells them that she wants them to bring Kintaro some iced coffee so that he can listen to what she has to say to him.
