About This Chapter
The narrator laments the loss of his friends. He feels that he is free now that he has left the others, but he is still lonely and does not want to be left alone. He tells the narrator that he met a woman and now she has vanished from his life for ever. The narrator tells him that his story was not interesting enough and that he needed to have at least one son per son on the earth. He asks why he came out of his bath and stomps on the narrator's skin to find out what is wrong with him. He says that he feels bad about the slap he received from his mother, but that she would not have slapped him if she had known it was true. He also says that his hair looks smoother than usual and that the movie from the preview looked good. He goes on to say that the tastes of the brothers have changed since they were brought up, and that they are no longer in the same mood. He reminds the narrator to accept the past and forget about the present.
