In this chapter, we learn that the "quintu patricul" , or "grand father," is the father of the three children. He's the one who helped his daughters pass their exams, and he's also the tutor who's helping the girls with their homework. We learn that his daughters are in love with him, and they've been hanging out together since spring break. The two of them have spent a lot of time together studying for their exams. Now that they're alone together, they can't be friends anymore.
