About This Chapter
Even though he reads the invitation to the sunrise festival, Nino doesn't seem to care about his family. He's just enjoying the festival, and he's about to go to bed when Fu--the tutor--shows up. He asks if Nino is having a good time at the festival. He tells him that the festival is almost over, and that his daughters love them. He says that he wanted to make the cakes for them again, but that he'd rather die than spend all his time making cakes for his daughters. He also says that if he were to die, he would be devastated by the loss of his daughters, because they're his only regret. He wants to help Nino live long enough to see his daughters grow up, so that he can be sure that they'll love him as well. He adds that he wants to make sure that Nino and his family don't get too close to each other, because it's hard for them to see each other grow up without each other's help. He suggests that the next time they all eat together, they should all have a nice dinner without running away from each other. This is too much for Nino, who can't bear the thought of eating so many alone. He decides to run off to the bath to get some fresh air, but he'll have to wait until the next day.
