Hiroyuki and his friend, Shu-Rako, go for a walk in the park. Hiroyuki asks if they're about to eat, and Shu asks if he made the sand for them to eat. He thanks them both for making the sand, and says that he's writing a thesis on nutrition. He tells them that he won an award recently for a story he wrote, and he hopes they'll read the story. He's still reading the story, though, because he wants to ask his girlfriend about it. He asks if she's going to beat him up if he doesn't go to the gym with her, and she says that's fine, but she'll let him do it behind the gym if he wants. She invites them to break a melon with a stick. They do it, and Hiroyuki says he just wanted to watch them beat a thing with the stick. He says that it's summer now, and that he thinks it looks like he has a straw around his neck. He gives the melon to Hiroyuki, who gives it to him as a gift. He hopes that Hiroyuki will enjoy his last summer as a college student.
