About This Chapter
It's springtime, and we're sitting in a room with two potato mashers. We're talking to a girl named Yumi, who's just returned from a trip to Japan. Yumi tells us that she's been to a "cherry blossom viewing party" , which is a fancy way of saying that she hasn't been to one yet. She's not into cherry blossom mochi, pickled cherry blossom jam, or all the other things that people do when they're in the mood for a good ol' fashioned cherry blossom snack. She doesn't like cherry blossom all that much, though, because she thinks it's too cherry-y for her taste buds. She also tells us about her school's "graduating ceremony," which is basically a graduation ceremony for graduating high school students. Yume says that she doesn' t have any friends at her school because she'd rather be at the ceremony than hanging out with other students. She says that her school is "go lazy," meaning that they don't really have any social life. She adds that her manager isn't much of an up-and-coming guy, so she'll have to go out on her own to find other people to hang out with when she gets back to her job. We find out that Yumi's hair is back to normal, and that she has been wearing it every day for the past year.
