The chapter ends with Hiroshi telling Hiroshi about his coworker's reaction to his news about the company's new accounting system. The co-worker said that she didn't care if Mr. Bennett was married, because she liked him so much that she couldn't stand to see him get cheated on. She's surprised that so many people don't seem to care if one of their friends cheated on them. The narrator says that if you're in love, you should consider the other person's feelings first. He thinks that people can passionately declare that they love someone, even if they haven't talked to them in a long time. He wonders if he could really love another person more than Hiroshi, who says that's impossible.
