About This Chapter
"Miss You Can Take a Break After You Finish Organizing That Data" The chapter opens with a conversation between Hiroshi and Hiroshi's mentor. Hiroshi tells Hiroshi that he hasn't been taking a break from his work since lunch, and he asks if he's on a break as well. The mentor replies that he is, and that he'll get coffee and a snack on his way back from work. He's not sure if Hiroshi means that she likes him or not, but he doesn't think that she's caught up in the idea of him being her lover. He also says that his boss and his co-workers are all nice, although he rarely gets to see them at work. The chapter ends with Hiroshi telling Hiroshi about his coworker's reaction to his news about the company's new accounting system. The co-worker said that she didn't care if Mr. Bennett was married, because she liked him so much that she couldn't stand to see him get cheated on. She's surprised that so many people don't seem to care if one of their friends cheated on them. The narrator says that if you're in love, you should consider the other person's feelings first. He thinks that people can passionately declare that they love someone, even if they haven't talked to them in a long time. He wonders if he could really love another person more than Hiroshi, who says that's impossible.
