In this chapter, we learn that the remains of three demi-humans have been found in the gymnasium of Iruma City, in northeastern Japan. They are takahashi, who was part of the sato-rema at large member diet, and ekotachibana, who spear-headed the new human-control bill. We learn that evidence of wrong-doing within the demi has been released, and that the schools have reopened in the city. We also learn that no one is worried about Hiroshi, who has not been seen in three years. The doctor tells Hiroshi that he should wait for things to settle down before he leaves. He says that he came to the hospital with his mouth filled with blood, and his body was fine. The police do not worry about it, he says, because the demi can die at any age. He tells the doctor that the fight is over, and they are heading to the gymnasium.
