About This Chapter
The next morning, Hirokazu asks if he's doing well. He's feeling a little better, but he still doesn't know what to say. He wants to leave, he says, because he wants to be out of harm's way. He asks if they can see him, and the Colonel says that they can't because they're invisible. They can only see what they want to see, which is that the three of them aren't fighting. The Colonel points out that it's very hard to say this when you're being saved, but the three are not fighting. Why don't they break their arms or blind them? The Colonel says he was right to topple them, and that he was going to kill him too. He says he'll kill them too, too, if they want him to. He swears to take them back to where they came from. He tells them that they'll all be dead by the time he picks up their heads and stands them back, so they won't be able to see him again.
