Rachel's mother is hysterical. She's worried that her daughter is missing. She tells her that she's been caring for her daughter for several days, and that she deserves a thank you from her. She asks why she didn't notice that she was anxious when she left the hospital. She says that when she brought her daughter home, she wanted to pay her medical bill secretly. Rachel told her that her mother still loves her, but she doesn't show it to her daughter. Rachel is so mature, she tells her mother, that even she feels bad for her. Her father, she says, does not treat boys like girls, and she was treated poorly at home. She cheated on her husband with another man.
