Dr. Rivers tells his daughter that he has to go to work. He tells her that if she misses him, she can call him after work. She tells him that her father taught her to be kind to him when he was sick. She asks him if he can be her mother, and he says that he can't because he's an ordinary doctor. When she asks him where she's been, he says she hasn't even been recovered from her illness. He gives her a present and tells her to send it to her employer if she wants it.
