About This Chapter
The next day, Dr. Rivers is late for his morning rounds. He asks his mentor, the Queen of Hearts, if she is unhappy that she has a mentor like him. The Queen replies that she is not unhappy because she is lacking in experience, but because she wants to make her more responsible and respect her more. She asks if she needs to get a new mentor, and Rivers replies that he does not need to get her a new one. He says that he is a qualified doctor, and that he believes the Queen's suggestion was reasonable, but that he would like to have a conflict of interest for the next three months. He believes that the Queen would not act hostile towards him in front of others or in public, and he says that if she was trying to train him, the words he said earlier werent too offensive. He adds that she does not change her attitude to her patients intentionally, but only makes her voice a bit gentler, but he has to learn it.
