Dr. Rivers is happy to hear that his son is famished. He resolves to make sure that no one finds out that he's his son's father. He's also happy that he hasn't received any calls from the school, and that he doesn't worry anymore about how his son will adjust to life at school. He thinks that if his son can accept others, he'll be able to adjust to his new environment better than he can his intelligence or his learning ability. Rivers says that he and his friends are getting a week off for a public holiday, and they'll go to see Clara's wedding.
