The chapter opens with Toyo shima and Tetahashi talking about the events of the previous night. Toyo says that he's sorry that he didn't kill the father of shin-sat, but that he wishes he could have done something more to help him and his daughter. He tells Toyo that he saw kitahama one day and that he thinks that Tamura is using the knowledge of the cave as leverage to get what he wants from Haruka. He asks Toyo to tell everyone about the cave so that he can figure out what's going on. He also tells her that she's a clever girl and that she can figure it out for herself.
