The next morning, Tsubaki tells the others that he's sorry that they've had to suffer because he went too far. He apologizes to them all, but he doesn't apologize to himself. He says he'll never apologize to anyone again, because he deserves to be punished for his bad behavior. He tells them that he hopes they'll find out the truth about Akira, but they're not sure. They need to find out if Akira left any clues about his relationship with his mom, and if he ever talked about his feelings for her. They're also worried that Akira might have mentioned his grudges or anything else that would have gotten them into trouble with the police. They don't know if there's anything in the past that they can use to corroborate their story.
