About This Chapter
The night wife thanks the night-wife for bringing her in for "one mystery" . She says that she has been thinking about the disappearance of Mr. Kishe for a while now. She wants to know what he said about making so much money by making a single telephone call. She asks the woman if she heard what she said, and the woman says that it is likely that she did not hear it. The woman then says that they have figured out that the phone that they found at the cave belonged to the man who made the phone call to Kishe on the eve of his disappearance. She also says that Kishe said that he did not know that he could make such a large sum of money for making such a single call, and that he was surprised to learn that the man making the call was the same man who called them on the day of the first phone call. He also said that it was impossible for him to have made such a great deal of money, because he had taken the 200,000 yen from Kishe's house to make the call. They also say that the day after the first call, the corpse of Kishe was not fresh, which makes it impossible for Kishe and the man not connected to him to say that they had nothing to do with each other's disappearance.
