The next morning, Tsubaki finds himself in the middle of a conversation with his sister. They've just heard that a homeless man has been found dead in the city. He's determined to find the man who killed the homeless man. He wants to know if there are any homeless people in the prefecture, and he wonders if the police are conducting "investiga tion" , which means they're going to arrest people for crimes they haven't committed. He also wonders whether the police might be conducting some sort of "connec tion," which is a police search for suspects. He wonders if there might be some homeless people hanging out in a city park, and his sister tells him that the police have been busy with a murder case involving a college girl recently, but he doesn't think they've had a chance to catch the killer yet. TSUBAKI tells his sister that he's been thinking about what he could do if he caught the killer, and that he was scared when he saw that the killer was talking to a "suspicious man" . He tells her that he has been having "a lot of fun" lately, thinking about how he could get the killer if he got the killer. He says that when he first saw the killer talking to the man, he hated him, but now he wants to live normally, so he just wants to "cut meat," which means he can't eat meat. He thinks that if he just leaves the wound alone, he'll just pretend not to notice it, and one day, it will start to rot.
