On the eve of his mother's funeral, Haruka laments the fact that his shoulder injury hasn't healed, and wonders how his father knew about it five years ago. He tells his father that he's prepared a bath for the evening, and Haruka thanks him for making a fine wife. Haruka's mother, Yumi, was a "beautiful woman" , and she's sure that Haruka will be as beautiful as her. He asks his father what happened to his face, and his father tells him that his mother told him to stay away from the family, which is "probably scared of backlash" . He's okay, he says, but everything changed after his mother died.
