In this short scene, Ruchi tells Haruka that he has decided to spend the next week with her at the beach. He tells her that he is surprised that she is taking Ruchi's side in the matter. He says that it is not good for them to wallow in misery. Haruka tells him that the two of them are on their own, but that they are welcome to join them. She says that one of them is her girl friend, and that the other is a "slack jawed beast" . She tells him to go ahead and join them, but he refuses, saying that shin has gone to cool off in the bath because he was too heated in the previous day's bath. He explains that he brought cards with him, and he guesses that he will be his partner for the day. He blames himself for making them do what they did, and says that if he had been a little stronger, they never would have been so driven to murder their father.
