The wax gourd demon arrives at the wedding hall. He tells the emperor that the wedding has not yet begun. The emperor asks him to come with him so that he can get things ready for the wedding. The two of them decide to wait until the wedding ceremony is over so that they can stay in the hall until the new year, when they will be free to leave.
