In the middle of the night, the three young men go to the border of Ming and Lanzhou, where they find that the "ancient formation" of heaven has been broken. They need to use a magical spell to break it, but they don't know how to do it. First, they need to pluck the earth's strings and play music, which isn't very good at music. Second, they have to find a way to break the "phantom butterfly poison" in the ground, which they haven't yet found. Third, they want to use their master's "zither," but they can't figure out how to use it, because the music doesn't stir up heaven. They have to use the "phoenix power" to get the earth under control.
