This chapter opens with a long monologue by the wax gourd demon. He tells the audience that he is in the middle of a terrible ordeal and that he wants to get away from it all. He wants to wake up Bei-Xiao and get him out of his illusion. He also wants to make sure that he doesn't get caught in the same trap as the other human beings who were caught with him in the previous chapter. He's also worried about his spiritual power and the fact that he's not allowed to engage in any kind of spiritual activity. He says that the only thing he can do is wake up the other humans and get them out of their illusion. The water in the underground chamber looks weird, and he wonders how he'll get past the dead body of an immortal lord. He decides to follow the plot and get close to the body of the immortal lord so that he can find a way out of the chamber and get away with him.
