The chapter opens with a description of the disciples of the Mingyao sect. They are mostly relatives of the ruling family, who are always interested only in having fun. After the death of Mingyu, the master position has been vacant, and Mingyu's close relationship with Lingyu has led to a rift between the two sects. Mingyu asks if there is a connection between Mingyu and Lingyu. The master of Lingyu, Mingyu says, could be "mingling" . The tail of the monk replies that Mingyu has figured this out. The monk asks Mingyu if he thinks his tail has made him smarter, and the tail replies that he has. The king's son replies that the monk is humble and smart, and he will go along with Mingyu to check it out.
