In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character named "Yin Yin" . He is a young man who has just returned from a trip to the Galapagos Islands. He has come back from the Galapagos with a message from his father, who has died. The message, which he has received from the father, is that his son is safe and well in the hands of the Galapagos people. He asks the father if his son will be able to return home safely. The father replies that he will, but he will not tell his son where he should go. The young man asks his father if he can go home, but the father says that he cannot, as he has already left the Galapagos and is on his way back to China.
