In this chapter, we are introduced to a number of characters, including the Snowdrift Master, the Snow Dragon, and the Master of the Sword Pavilion. The Snow Dragon asks the Master to introduce him to his friends. The Master replies that he wants to introduce his favorite cultivator to the group, because he thinks that the best swordsman in the world is a young man named Yangiuyi from the snow-drift villa. He also tells the Master that the position of Snow Dragon's madam is still vacant, and that the master of sword pavilion, jifeiyu, is the most interesting man in the whole world. The two men discuss the upcoming battle, which they believe to be an idol-making competition. The master explains that the winner of the battle will be given a silk flower, which he can give to the person he loves, but the flower is not very nice. He explains that he gave the silk flower away to a friend who is very important to him, twenty-eight years ago in this area. He then asks the master to help him remove the curse from his soul.
