This chapter opens with a description of a man who makes porcelain out of human bones. He sneaks into his workshop to make a jar of human ashes into the finished product. The ashes are shaped as if they were alive. The next day, the product is finished and sold at a very high price. The man's wife is shocked to see that the porcelain is stained with human blood.
