In this chapter, we learn that in 2005 in the village of youtang, in the county of xinxiang, and in the province of henan, a man named zhuzhengshan has been spotted by two idler men. The two men have come to his house to ask him about his activities, but he has not answered them. They find a small bag in his hand, which seems very precious to him, and they conclude that he must have some secret. They go to his home and find that he has disappeared into the forest. The villagers wonder where he is, and when they finally find him, they realize that he is stealing cultural relics.
