In this chapter, the author tells the story of how he fell in love with a beautiful young woman who lived in a wealthy part of town. She was so beautiful that he felt a "gentle breeze blowing in his heart and rattling his mind" . He even thought about writing her as a heroine of his novel and him as the hero of his love story, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. One day, a courier came to deliver a package for the woman. The courier wanted to buy the woman a new pair of shoes, so the author came up with the idea that she would get four new shoes for herself. The woman opened the door and saw her husband standing in the darkness. He gave her a strange feeling, and she didn't know what to do. The property manager came in, and the woman was nervous to lead her into the room, but now it was home in pajamas. The author was about to lose her mind, but she asked him to just tell her that her husband was angry, and that half a year's worth of chemotherapy had not saved his life. He was so handsome that no one thought the woman had moved away, but six months later she came back with a new set of clothes and wigs for her husband. Everyone thought she had lost her mind.
