In this chapter, we are introduced to the young protagonist, who has just completed his training. He is eager to show off his new moves to his master. He asks his master to teach him some moves, but his master is not willing to give him the time of day. He tells the protagonist that he has a book that he can take with him to try out some moves. He then goes to a cave and finds a bunch of murals. He copies them down and uses them as a guide to his moves. The protagonist tells his master that if he gives him the book, he will probably not come looking for him anymore. He says that he, the protagonist, has come to challenge his master, but he is not hurt. He wants to show his master something. He explains that he no longer deserves to be his master because he has surpassed him many years ago. He begs his master not to follow him, saying that they will be together forever.
