The two girls try to get Em to pay attention to them, but Em doesn't want to do anything about it, so they decide to pretend that they're sick. The girls tell Em that she's been suffering from an illness, which makes her itch from her toes to her heart whenever she thinks of Em. She asks if they can teach her how to draw, and the girls tell her that they don't know how to do this, so she asks them to teach her. She's so excited that she starts to cry, but then she realizes that the hat is way too heavy, and she'll drown in the river. She thanks the girls for saving her, and they all go back to the hotel. The next day, Em wins the prize for the best painting in the field trip.
