In this short scene, we learn that the two students are going to school together, and that they're going to wear formal shoes when they go to school because it's a three-hour walk to school. We learn that this is because the school is only 5 a.m., which means that they have to walk three hours to get there. The two students agree that they should wear their formal shoes and twist their daily exercises to make themselves look better. They're both psyched to be at school, and they both promise to do their best to make it through the day. The student, named jingyinglan, is super impressed with the work he's been doing on his homework. He's even more impressed when he sees that bettie no longer cares about him, and he gives her a pennant as a token of thanks. He also tells her that he has designed a wing pattern for her, so that she'll look more like him when she goes to school, instead of the other way around. He tells her to stop talking about Ren, and she agrees to do so. The teacher, Mr. yang, comes in and says that he wants to transfer to another school immediately.
