The chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous chapter, where we learn that the elf queen has ordered the capture of the remaining humans. The narrator tells us that the elves are not really good at fighting, but that the queen is trying to protect them. He says that he will release everyone when he has confirmed their identities. He tells the elf brothers that they will not harm them, just for their own protection. The elder elf sister tells the younger elf brother that they are tied up, but the elder elf says that they have been ordered to do so by the queen. The younger elf tries to catch up with the older elf brother, but he can't, because the road is too hard to walk. The older elf tells his younger sister that they should untie her, but she says that she is too young to be his older sister. She says that even if she were an elf, she would still look so young. The elf brother tells her that a poison dart has been fired at her, and the elf elder sister says that it was a dart that hit her. She then tells the young elf brother to go and find the elf magician, because there are so many people around them. She tells him to grab an elf archer, because they are all around the place. The young elf says she is not familiar with magic, so she has to figure out a way to untie the vines.
