This is a locked chapterChapter 20: Pass the Test (Part 1)
About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous chapter, in which the teacher, Goris, tells the student, Proteus, that he has passed the test to become a "magician" . The teacher, however, is not satisfied with the results, and he tells the boy that he will have to pass the test as a "maid" instead of a "man." The boy's response is that he is a man, and his clothes are not appropriate for a woman. He tells the teacher that he wants to be his "sparter" for a year, but the teacher refuses to agree to this, saying that he does not have the time to do so. The boy, who is now called "Xuan yue," is upset by the teacher's refusal to call him by his real name. He asks the teacher if he can call him "yue yue" instead, and the teacher says that it would be better if he called the boy "xuan-yue." The teacher then gives the boy a membership card, which he can use to receive his salary every month. The two men wait for the magic cloaks, which are certified by the company as being suitable for a "high-level magician." The clothes are too small for a man of Goris' class, and they do not even qualify for the "grand-magician's test" , which is the highest level of testing required to be called a "master magician." When the teacher finally wears his new clothes, he is so impressed that he decides to wear them as well.
