The teacher and the dumb kid are walking back to the school when the teacher notices that the carriage is dirty. He gives the kid an extra coin to clean it up. The two of them decide to walk the remaining distance. The fog is so thick that they can't see each other. The teacher says that he's tired and needs to stand up to follow the kid. The kid says that the kid is tenacious and that it's a good thing that he survived the nine-turn marrow cleansing pill. They eat some fruit and the kid tells the teacher that he ate all of the fruit that he left for him.
