About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a description of the "divine fruit of rebirth" . It's a fruit that's supposed to make you live longer, stronger, healthier, etc. The narrator explains that he's been looking for this fruit for a long time, but it's never been found. He asks his uncle what happened to him when he ate the fruit. The uncle tells him that the fruit was tasty, but that after eating it, his stomach "ached so badly" that it was a "lighamy god." The narrator then tells his uncle that he has something to tell him. He's named Owen, and he wants to teach Owen all of his martial arts skills. Owen tells the narrator that the holy water in the fruit poisoned him, so he can't perform many of his duties anymore. Owen says that if you follow him, he'll teach you all his skills, and then you can complete them for him after you learn his. Owen wants to know if the teacher is interested in becoming his disciple, but the teacher says that he isn't. Owen asks if he can kidnap the teacher, and the teacher replies that he won't do it. Owen begs the teacher to let him go with him, and promises to come back when Owen is done with his training.
