In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, the "dumb kid" from the previous chapter. The kid is a bit of a mystery to the teacher, because he's not even sure where he comes from. The teacher asks the kid if he is from the Luori or the huasheng countries, and the kid says that he doesn't know. He also asks the teacher if the kid has ever suffered any kind of physical injury, because the teacher says that the kid's brain seems to have suffered a "significant injury" in the past, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. This is the first time the teacher has seen the kid, and she's impressed by his physical talent. She tells the kid that she'll take care of the kid so that he won't have to suffer any more pain in the future.
