About This Chapter
The bad guys have run away, and now it's time for the good guys to show up. It's too bad they're not there to help, because it'll be nice to have them around. The good guys are going to find a doctor, and the bad guys will be gone soon enough. The narrator tells us that this is a good thing, because we're about to find out that the narrator has learned a lesson. He's learned everything he's ever learned from his uncle, and he won't regret it. He tells his uncle not to worry, because he'll die happy, and that's all he needs to do. He also says that he can't think of anything else to do, since he has learned everything his uncle has taught him. He says, "I'm going to die happy" , and his uncle is all, "Don't worry, kid, I'm not going to worry about you." The narrator doesn't know what to say, but he does know that his uncle will die happy. He asks his uncle if he learned anything from the lesson he just taught him, and if he did, he'd be happy to die without regrets. The uncle says no, but the narrator says he didn't learn anything from his last lesson, so he can only regret it in his next life. He adds that he will be happy when he dies, and then he can repay his uncle for all the good things he has done for him in his life.
