In this chapter, we meet the siblings of the mountain man. They're all dead, so they're afraid to go down with him. The mountain man tells them that he's already dead, but he still has something to tell them. He's got a way to prove it. He tells them to stop wearing the evil clothes of the heavenly inversion sect. He also tells them not to be angry at the boy who told them he was dead. He says that if he were angry at him, he would have died and gone to reunite with his master in the afterlife. He warns the siblings not to even think about going down the mountain, because he has an eye on them. They should wait until he heals them, and then they can go down together. If they don't go down, he says, then he'll have a look at them. The good news is that all of them will die in the mountains. The bad news, he tells them, is that they can't give the calamity body to the woman. He promises to come and save her. He wants to know why they had to just come back. They were already safe, but now they have to fight with each other. He doesn't want to drag them down, because they've already been touched by the calamity spirit.
