In this chapter, we learn that the evil spirit of the mountain man is a calamity spirit, and that he has harnessed its power to destroy the lives of his friends and classmates. The evil spirit, however, is able to control the power of the disasters, and so he has been able to destroy all of them. He asks the siblings if they would like to remove the mask of their evil selves, but they refuse, saying that they have already done so and that they do not like the current look of the evil selves. They ask the boss to hurry up and kill the evil spirits, but the boss says that he could only save the spirits that are still alive, so they should continue to use the evil bodies. The siblings are confused, and the boss tells them to open their eyes and help him.
