In this chapter, we are introduced to the family of a mountain man, who has been living in Utah for many years. He tells his siblings that they must be good daughters and use their money first. He also tells them that they are all "one family" and that money is only a temporary thing. He adds that his savings have taken a huge toll on his health and that he still wants to buy a new phone. He explains that he was just an office worker one day when he was stabbed and insisted on seeing a client. After being stabbed, he went to a grocery store to buy his daily necessities. He spent 300 and earned 50. He says that he has never hurt a soul and that the murderer seems "quite pitiful" . The murderer initially abused animals and killed five innocent teenagers, but a brave man seized his weapon during the confrontation. This murderer "unlawfully murdered innocents" but could not escape the divine judgment. The siblings decide that the new phone is a must-have for a student.
