In this chapter, we learn that the family has been living happily ever after in the mountains for the past ten years, despite the fact that they have lost their two children. The parents blame themselves for their children's deaths, but they are also helpless in the midst of such a tragic situation. They decide to go to the market place and buy some food for their son, who is expected to leave in a few days.
