In this chapter, Edgar and his siblings discuss the fight they're about to have with the mountain man. They're tired of the fight and want to get back to their normal lives. Edgar wants to know why they haven't started yet. He's a little worried about his appearance, but he's also worried about what his sister is up to. He tries to get them to stop talking, but they just keep talking and talking. Finally, they get to the point where they can't stop talking. Edgar tells his sister to hurry up and help him, but she doesn't want to do that. He tells his brother to get the heck out of the way so they can kill each other. Edgar introduces himself as "Edison" and tells him that they've been instructed to kill one person at a time. He wants to shut down the lights in a room so he can see what's going on. The lights go off, and Edgar realizes that the demon spirit is able to sense him even though he didn't say anything. He asks the demon to calm down, and the lights come back on again.
