Captain Strong is still alive, but he's not as strong as he used to be. He's been hit by a cannonball, and he can't get out of the way. Captain Strong reminds him that he was once a doctor, too, and that he loved the battle field, too. He says that when he was a doctor and an incarnate, he would hear the screams of the dying, and his heart would be full of gratitude. Now, when he hears them, his heart is full of joy. He asks Captain Strong if he can say that he isn't broken, and Captain Strong says that he is. He points out that no matter how much he tries to stop him, he'll never be able to stop the cannonball that hits him. He wonders if he has the bullets to destroy him.
